August's Guest Designer

I am so excited to have Jovita Kloess as this month's guest designer! I have long-admired Jovita's style. Jovi puts the most fabulous finishing touches on every one of her creations! Her attention to detail is superb!
I met Jovi for the first time on A Shade of Blue. A Shade of Blue is a message board very similar to Splitcoaststampers. Many of the cards, forum chats and ideas at ASB use The Angel Company stamps. (TAC)
When I first found out about The Angel Company, I had to have some of their stamps. And then, I had to find a place to chat and share all the stuff I made.
That's when I learned about the "A Shade of Blue Forums and Galleries."
Jovi and I chatted back and forth a many times at ASB and she was always so nice and welcoming. Then, lo and behold, I found out that she was also a moderator over at Splitcoaststampers. (She was actually my very first friend at Splitcoast too!)
So when Jovi agreed to be a guest designer, I was thrilled to say the least!
Jovi's first card features the new Stamps for a Cause stamp set, "Make a Wish!"
As you can see, Jovi put her heart into designing this beauty! I had to send her this set because I knew, once we rolled it out, Jovi would work her magic on it and make you want it even more! LOL!
Jovi got the opportunity to choose what stamps she wanted to play with. She chose one of my favorites, the flower wagon.
Jovi's ability to create fantastic sketches is one of the things that makes her creations stand out above the rest! I love the circular piece of patterned paper. It gives this card such a neat feel!
The many textures of this little crabby card really got me! I love the fabric-like feel that Jovi created and the little metal embellishment is used in such a unique way!
Jovi colors so well. The many tones of these chickens blend perfectly with the gorgeous background paper she selected!
Just in time for fall, Jovi used my favorite fall stamp, the pumpkin patch. Don't you love the creative little corner accent on this one? I also love the distressed edges that provide more texture and feel so warm as we begin to throw on our sweatshirts on those cool Autumn nights.
Jovi went above and beyond the three cards that I asked her to make. She sent double that amount! And of course, she jumped right in to help make you fall in love all over again with the "Make A Wish" stamp set!
The details on this card are so cool! I love all those different patterns and the way they all work so well together! I also love the masculine feel that Jovi created with this card. Even with the pinkish tones, it's still the perfect card for a man.
A little over 5 years ago, Jovi actually quit stamping! Wouldn't that have been a terrible loss for us? Thank goodness a friend made her go to a stamping party and her love for the craft rekindled! You can read more about Jovi in her biography below. And make sure you check out her blog. I go there whenever I need my House Mouse fix or I want to hear the latest in her Motorcycling adventures! (Which is quite often! You'll also find her on my blogroll of blogging friends.)
I am so grateful to Jovi, not only for being willing to share her time and talent here as a guest designer, but for always being the first one to make a new stamper or a new member of the stamping community feel welcome, accepted and appreciated.
Thanks Jovi!!

I'm a stay at home mom with two children, a daughter Riley and a son Austin.
I've been married for 18 years (soon to be 19 years this month) to my best
friend Bryan.
I've been stamping THIS TIME for about 5 years now. My friend introduced to
me stamping 8 years ago. When I was living in California I would make cards
all the time to send back home. Then when we moved back to Colorado, I
really didn't have anyone to send cards to. That's when I decided to give
ALL my stamps and supplies away to my niece. When we bought our house, my
next door neighbor was and still is a Close to My Heart consultant, she
invited me to one of her workshops. Since then I was hooked, again! My
husband was a little surprised that I decided to get back into stamping..
since he had to supply me with all new stamps and supplies! I love mostly
anything whimsical ~ Penny Black Hedgehogs, Kitties and House Mouse are my
all time favorite stamps to use.
When I'm not stamping, I love to spend time with my family and friends ~
motorcycle riding (my newest adventure), hiking, and camping, seeing the
latest movies and of course shopping for stamps!
